Georgia’s star running back and Heisman Trophy candidate, Nick Chubb suffered a knee injury on the first play of the game Saturday against Tennessee.
On a run to the left side his leg buckled awkwardly as he was being pushed out of bounds by a Tennessee defender.
Chubb was attempting to break Herschel Walker’s school record for most consecutive 100 yard games, but that pursuit appears to have come to an abrupt end. He tied the record last week with his 13th consecutive game over the century mark.
Georgia officials said it is a knee injury. Chubb did not return to the game after being carted off the field from the sideline.
Mark Richt says he is not sure if Nick Chubb’s injury will require surgery, but I’m fairly sure he hasn’t seen video of the injury…
