Ohio State suspends 4 players for season opener

Joey Bosa, perhaps the nations most talented defensive end will be one of four suspended Buckeyes for the September 7th game against Virginia. Virgina Tech’s slim hopes of upsetting pre season #1 Ohio State just became stronger. Many national pundits have predicted the first game of the season would be Ohio State’s biggest hurdle to an undefeated season.

Bosa, H backs Jalin Mashall and Dontre Wilson along with receiver Corey Smith will be suspended for a violation of athletic department policy according to The Columbus Dispatch.

Bosa an emerging star recorded 13.5 sacks last season, but Urban Meyer will have the resources to at least fill that void with a capable player for the first game. Tyquan Lewis emerged as a new starter for the vacated defensive end spot, but he could choose Jalyn Holmes or redshirt freshman Sam Hubbard and Darius Slad to fill Bosa’s spot for the opener.

Wilson and Marshall split time at hybrid back to start the season, but Wilson’s injury half way through the season allowed Marshall to become a reliable and at times a go to option out of the backfield on the way to the National Championship last season.
