Iowa punches ticket to Big 10 Championship

Iowa

The Iowa Hawkeyes beat Purdue 40-20 on a cold snowy day in Iowa City to improve to 11-0.

The Hawkeyes secured a spot in the Big 10 Championship Game for the first time since the championship game was added in 2011.

It was predicted the Hawkeyes would be able to dominate the game on the ground against one of the worst run defenses in the Big 10.

LeShun Daniels Jr. ran for two early scores, but C.J. Beathard was very efficient through the air building a three touchdown lead with touchdown throws to Wide Reciever Matt VandeBerg and Tight Ends George Kittle and Henry Krieger Coble.

Jordan Canzeri capped the scoring for Iowa with a 42 yard touchdown run to seal the deal on Senior Day. Canzeri finished the day with 95 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.

The Big 10 Championship game will be held on December 5, 2015 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
